Ghosting Image aims to examine underground materiality. The screenprinting is printed with thermographic ink that reacts to the temperature of the body. When touched, the ink disappears. Distracted by the effect it may take time for the viewer to recognize that the image they are touching is a reproduction of a coltan mine. Coltan is the colloquial name for the mineral columbite-tantalite and, for a long time, its extraction has been closely associated with human rights violations in the Republic of Congo and other countries. Ghosting Image reminds us that a daily gesture (the tactile action), is nothing more than an automatic action that makes us forget the mineral nature that composes its raw material.

Imagen Fantasma examina la materialidad subterránea. La serigrafía está impresa con tinta termográfica que reacciona a la temperatura del cuerpo. Cuando se toca, la tinta desaparece. Este efecto puede distraernos y no dejarnos reconocer la imagen que estamos tocando, una reproducción de una mina de coltán. El coltán es el nombre coloquial del mineral columbita-tantalita y, durante mucho tiempo, su extracción ha estado estrechamente relacionada con las violaciones de los derechos humanos en la República del Congo y otros países.
